Vegan Irish Bread

I guess this is one of my most favourite recipes and it has convinced many non-bakers, that making bread at home can not only be easy and fast but also super satisfying...

  • 4.5 dl rice or almond milk
  • 5 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 500g all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp curcuma
  • Chia seeds
  • 1 tsp reishi mushroom powder


  1. Add the apple cider vinegar to your vegan milk and wait for it to curdle.
  2. In the meantime heat the oven to 200 degrees celsius.
  3. Mix all the dry ingredients.
  4. Slowly add the milk and vinegar. Mix well but only as much as needed. The less you touch the dough, the better the bread!
  5. Put the dough in a non-sticking baking tin and sprinkle the top with some sunflower seeds, pumpkin and chia seeds. Bake in the middle of the oven for for 45 minutes, then remove the bread from the tin and bake another 5 minutes.
